Award-winning actress Diana Elizabeth Torres was born in Culiacán Sinaloa, in the Northern region of Mexico.

The daughter of a civil engineer and a clinical psychologist, Diana is the second child out of five brothers and sisters. Due to her father's work the family relocated often. Diana became adept at changing in order to fit in. Even her regional accents would change from city to city without even realizing it

She is the lead actress in the award-winning film East Side Sushi, directed by Anthony Lucero. The film won 12 awards including Best Feature and Audience Award.

 

Diana, who has been acting professionally since then age of 17, credits Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench, Glenn Close, Emma Thompson, Marion Cotillard and Hilary Swank to have inspired her to become a leading lady. From the Latin actors she greatly admires Yareli Arizmendi, Penélope Cruz, Adriana Barraza, Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna and Salma Hayek which she is often compared to because of her looks.

Commercial credits include: Dish Latino, CNN, Microsoft, Hersheys, Honda, 5 Hour Energy, Payless and Got Milk? with Salma Hayek. She was also the face for ALWAYS in the Latin market.

Television credits include: Bienes Raíces (Channel 11 México), Femme Fatales (HBO/Cinemax) and most recently she was a guest on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! (ABC) show in a comedy skit about the show Scandal.

Film credits include: Kada Kien su Karma (Universal Mexico), The Tequila Effect (Indie), Inherent Vice (Warner Brothers) Private Number (Indie) and East Side Sushi in a lead role.

Currently Diana Elizabeth Torres is focusing as well in philanthropy and social work to help Mexican indigenous women. She believes they need support as they are most prone to abuse due to illiteracy. She intends to use the power of film to empower and bring attention to social causes.
